Family and Couple Therapy

The Family and Couple Therapy focuses on families and couples in intimate relationships to nurture change and development. The method is based on the system approach, which means that we view change in terms of the systems of interaction between family members.

If your family is going through a challenging time, whether it's from stress, a new life situation, anger, or grief, family/couple therapy can make a difference. It can help couples, children, or members of an extended family learn to communicate better and work through conflicts.

The aim is to identify the negative communication and behavioral patterns and learn how to communicate better, solve problems, and find new ways to work together. Family therapy can't always make a problem go away. Using these new skills can help you to get through difficult situations in healthier ways.

Sessions are led by two family therapists, me and my colleague. A session is 90 minutes long, and we meet every second week.

Family therapy lasts approximately for 10 sessions, and couple therapy is about 12-15 sessions. In the first 2 sessions, we identify the issues, set a goal, and work towards reaching the goal.
